Steward's Report
Stewards spoke to Mr D Blake, the representative of Major Lachy, regarding the length of time the greyhound has had between races. Major Lachy last raced on 9th of February 2017. Mr Blake stated that the greyhound was returning to racing following a right back muscle injury. Mr K Blake also declared a new weight of 31.4kg for the greyhound in accordance with GAR 39(2). Major Lachy last raced at 32.9kg.
Mr Brayden Klemke, trainer of Miss Pie, declared a new weight of 27.4kg for the greyhound in accordance with GAR 39(2). Miss Pie last raced at 26.1kg.
Major Lachy and Paper Cuts were slow to begin.
Paper Cuts, Shezza's Nitro and Shifty Joshua collided at the 250m mark. Shezza's Nitro and Emilia Cash collided at the 200m mark. Shezza's Nitro and Shifty Joshua collided at the 150m mark. Shezza's Nitro eased approaching at the winning post.
Stewards spoke to Mr Adam Oakley, the trainer of the greyhound Shezza's Nitro, regarding the greyhound’s racing manners approaching the winning post. Shezza's Nitro was vetted and revetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained injuries to the right long head triceps (monkey) muscle, a five-day stand down period was imposed. Acting under GAR 69(B)(1), the stewards charged Shezza's Nitro with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment (by reason of injury). Mr Oakley pleaded guilty to the charge, Shezza's Nitro was found guilty and stewards directed that the greyhound perform a Satisfactory Trial (all tracks) pursuant to GAR 69(B)(1)(a),before any future nomination will be accepted.
MEETING COMMENTS
Satisfactory Trial Results - Fiery Boss trialled over the 350m from box eight, weight 29.1kg, the greyhound was placed third in a field of four. The time of the trial was 19.84, the greyhound was beaten by a margin of 4.25L. Fiery Boss was cleared.
