Stewards spoke to Mr M Johnson, the trainer of Lightning Mckey regarding the length of time the greyhound has had between races. Lightning Mckey last raced 14 March, 2017 and is returning from a spell and a change of kennel. Mr Johnson also declared a new weight of 35.0kgs for the greyhound in accordance with GAR 39(2). Lightning Mckey last raced at  33.3kgs. 

Coolgirl Miss was slow to begin.  Shogun Sammy, Upta Ya Mate, Jai Yen Yen and Lightning Mckey collided soon after the start.  Shogun Sammy and Jai Yen Yen collided approaching the first turn.  Jai Yen Yen marred Showgun Sammy on the first turn severely checking Coolgirl Miss, Shogun Sammy, Lightning Mckey and Six Heights.  Shogun Sammy checked off Jai Yen Yen in the home straight.

Jai Yen Yen was vetted following the event.  It was reported that the greyhound sustained an abrasion to the right hind.  No stand down period was imposed.

Stewards spoke to Mr. R. Colpoys, the trainer of the greyhound Jai Yen Yen regarding the greyhound's racing manners on the first turn.  Acting under GAR 69(1) stewards charged Jai Yen Yen with marring.  Mr. Colpoys pleaded guilty to the charge, Jai Yen Yen was found guilty and suspended for 28 days at Traralgon and it was directed that the greyhound perform a Satisfactory Trial (all tracks), pursuant to GAR 69(2)(a) before any future nomination will be accepted.

Vee Power, Little Mishcha and River Wild were slow to begin.  It's Upta You checked off Destini Torpedo approaching the first turn.  Vee Power, Destini Torpedo and Hello Mr Duck collided on the first turn checking Vee Power, Destini Torpedo and River Wild.  Hello Mr Duck checked off Eagle Princess on the first turn.  Fantasy Blaze and River Wild collided approaching the home turn.  Eagle Princess and Hello Mr Duck collided approaching the home turn.  Vee Power raced wide approaching the home turn and collided with Destini Torpedo.  Little Mischa crossed to the outside on the home turn checking It's Upta You.  Vee Power checked off Destini Torpedo entering the home straight checking Destini Torpedo

Grey Grouse, Hurricane Craig and Excuse Me Baby were slow to begin.  Excuse Me Baby eased approaching the first turn.  Grey Grouse and Hell Blazin' collided approaching the first turn.  Hurricane Craig and Excuse Me Baby collided on the first turn checking Excuse Me Baby.  Poison Pen raced wide approaching the home turn.  Hell Blazin' and Excuse Me Baby collided entering the home straight.

Excuse Me Baby was vetted and after being re vetted following event 12, it was reported that there was no apparent injury found.

Stewards spoke to Ms. L. Repici, the trainer of the greyhound Excuse Me Baby regarding the greyhound's racing manners approaching the first turn.  Acting under GAR 69(A)(1) stewards charged Excuse Me Baby with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment.  Ms. Repici pleaded guilty to the charge.  Excuse Me Baby was found guilty and suspended for 28 days at  Traralgon and it was directed that the greyhound perform a Satisfactory Trial (all tracks) pursuant to GAR 69(A)(2)(a) before any future nomination will be accepted.

Poison Pen was vetted following the event.  It was reported that there was no apparent injury found.

Stewards issued a warning to Mr. L. Lacy, the trainer of Poison Pen regarding the greyhound's racing manners in the home straight.

Stewards spoke to Mr. S. Spence and reminded him of his responsibilities regarding obeying starters orders when boxing his greyhound. GAR 51(10)(a).

Shackleton was slow to begin.  Black Train, Lucky's Spirit and Jetmag Storm collided soon after the start checking Lucky's Spirit and Jetmag Storm.  Walt's Star crossed to the rail on the first turn checking Zafonic Express, Terrace and Black Train. Terrace and Zafonic Express collided in the back straight checking Zafonic Express.  Shackleton crossed to the rail on the second turn checking Terrace and Black Train.

Satisfactory Trial Results (GAR 77A) - Stewards  spoke to Mr. L. Mitchell the representative of Quaker Bale regarding the length of time since the greyhound last raced.  Quaker Bale last raced on 4th September, 2016.  Mr. Mitchell stated that the greyhound was returning to racing after a change of kennels. Pursuant to GAR 77A,  Quaker Bale trialled over the 315m from box 3, weight 32.5kgs, the greyhound was placed 2nd in a field of 4.  The time of the trial was 18.79, the greyhound was beaten by a margin of 4 lengths. Quaker Bale was cleared.

Satisfactory Trial Results (GAR 77A) - Stewards spoke to Mr. L. Mitchell the representative of Donna O'Muffin regarding the length of time since the greyhound last raced.  Donna O'Muffin last raced on 16th January, 2017.  Mr. Mitchell stated that the greyhound was returning to racing following an injured hip and being on season.  Pursuant to GAR 77A, Donna O'Muffin trialled over the 315m from box 5, weight 24.6kgs, the greyhound was placed 4th in a field of 4.  The time of the trial was 18.79, the greyhound was beaten by a margin of 7.25 lengths. Donna O'Muffin was cleared. 

Satisfactory Trial Results (GAR 77A) - Stewards spoke to Mr. W. Duniam, the trainer of Nurse Fearing regarding the length of time since the greyhound last raced. Nurse Fearing last raced on 14th May, 2016. Mr. Duniam stated that the greyhound was returning to racing after being on season. Pursuant to GAR 77A, Nurse Fearing trialled over the 395m from box 8, weight 27.4kgs,  the greyhound was placed 4th in a field of 4.  The time of the trial was 23.01, the greyhound was beaten by a margin of 11 lengths. Nurse Fearing was cleared.

Satisfactory Trial Results (GAR 77A) - Stewards spoke to Mr. A. Wood. the Trainer of Cosmic Madness regarding the length of time since the greyhound last raced.  Cosmic Madness last raced on 22nd September, 2016, Mr. Wood stated that the greyhound was returning to racing following a triangle injury.  Pursuant to GAR 77A, Cosmic Madness trialled over the 395m from box 6, weight 35.2kgs, the greyhound was placed 3rd in a field of 4.  The time of the trial was 23.01, the greyhound was beaten by a margin of 9.25 lengths. Cosmic Madness was cleared.

Satisfactory Trial Results -  Murrabit Ranger trialled over the 315m from box 7, weight 27.4kgs,  the greyhound was placed 3rd in a field of 4.  The time of the trial was 18.79, the greyhound was beaten by a margin of 6 lengths. Murrabit Ranger was cleared.

Satisfactory Trial Results - Supa Shalala trialled over the 395m from box 1, weight 27.9kgs,  the greyhound was placed 1st in a field of 4. The time of the trial was 18.79, the greyhound won a margin of 1.45 lengths. Supa Shalala was cleared.
