Steward's Report
A pre-race sample was taken from Peace On Earth upon arrival at the course, prior to kennelling.
Stewards spoke to Mr David Meeny, the trainer of Just Teefa, regarding the length of time the greyhound has had between races. Just Teefa last raced at Cranbourne on 28 February, 2017 and is returning to racing after recuperating from a rear left foot injury.
A pre-race sample was taken from Holyfield.
Just Teefa and Peace On Earth were slow to begin.
Holyfield and Just Teefa collided soon after the start. From The Shadows and Longshot Glory collided soon after the start. Just Teefa, Sirius Matters and Peace On Earth collided at the 250m mark, checking Just Teefa. Just Teefa and Holyfield collided at the 150m mark, checking Holyfield. Blue Odessa eased at the 100m mark. Bruree Belle eased approaching the winning post.
Blue Odessa was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained no apparent injury. Stewards spoke to Mr Kenneth Stephens, the trainer of the greyhound Blue Odessa regarding the greyhound’s racing manners at the 100m mark. Acting under GAR 69(A)(1) stewards charged Blue Odessa with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment. Mr Stephens pleaded not guilty to the charge, Blue Odessa was found guilty and suspended for 28 days at Healesville and it was directed that the greyhound perform a Satisfactory Trial (all tracks), pursuant to GAR 69(A)(2)(a) before any future nomination will be accepted.
Bruree Belle was vetted and revetted following event three. It was reported that the greyhound sustained no apparent injury. Stewards spoke to Mr Edmund Dollery, the trainer of the greyhound Bruree Belle regarding the greyhound’s racing manners approaching the winning post. Acting under GAR 69(A)(1) stewards charged Bruree Belle with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment. Mr Dollery pleaded guilty to the charge, Bruree Belle was found guilty and suspended for 28 days at Healesville and it was directed that the greyhound perform a Satisfactory Trial (all tracks), pursuant to GAR 69(A)(2)(a) before any future nomination will be accepted.
