Steward's Report
Stewards spoke to Mr S. Malloy trainer of Nellie Shan regarding the length of time the greyhound had between races. Nallie Shan last raced on 25th February 2017. Mr S. Malloy stated that the dog had resumed racing due to being seasonal.
Mr S. Malloy , trainer of Nellie Shan declared a new weight of 31.2kg for the greyhound in accordance with GAR 39(2). Nellie Shan last raced at 30.1kg.
Meila Allen was quick to begin. Kintimani was slow to begin. Sidey checked off Nellie Shan approaching the first turn. Nellie Shan and Nicky Jo collided on the first turn. Sidey and Special Case collided on the first turn. Nicky Jo and Nellie Shan collided approaching the home turn and again on the home turn. Nicky Jo checked off Nellie Shan entering the home straight. Nellie Shan checked off Special Case in the home straight. Special Case checked off Sidey in the home straight.
Nellie Shan was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained a laceration to the back right foot. A stand down period of 14 days was imposed.
Stewards spoke to Licensed person Mr Robert Bromley and reminded him of his reponsibilities after he failed to fulfil his catching engagement for Nellie Shan.
