Bekele was quick to begin. Baroness Sally and Destini Wahoo were slow to begin. Bekele, Taltarni Shiraz and Hoosh Nar collided soon after the start checking Taltarni Shiraz and Hoosh Nar. Full Blown Turbo contacted the running rail approaching the first turn and lost considerable ground as a result. Claretown Happy contacted the running rail on the first turn and lost considerable ground as a result. Selynya Flash raced wide on the home turn and in the home straight. Full Blown Turbo and Claretown Happy collided in the home straight.
Full Blown Turbo was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained an injury to its left monkey muscle. A 10 day stand down period was imposed.
