Steward's Report
Boston Shuffle was slow to begin. Sister Salzburg and Victor Metti collided on the first turn checking Azurite, Big Bold Boomer, Dewana Be Sharp and Retro Flyer. Too Seductive and Victor Metti collided approaching the second turn. Boston Shuffle galloped on the heels of Too Seductive approaching the second turn checking Big Bold Boomer and Sister Salzburg; Too Seductive fell as a result. Dewana Be Sharp and Victor Metti collided entering the front straight. Dewana Be Sharp, Retro Flyer and Victor Metti collided on the third turn checking Dewana Be Sharp. Dewana Be Sharp, Victor Metti and Retro Flyer collided in the back straight and again on the fifth turn. Azurite, Dewana Be Sharp, Retro Flyer and Victor Metti collided on the home turn. Azurite marred the running of Dewana Be Sharp in the home straight checking Dewana Be Sharp and Retro Flyer.
Azurite was vetted following the event. It was reported that there was no apparent injury found.
Stewards spoke to Mr. G. James, the trainer of the greyhound Azurite regarding the greyhound's racing manners in the home straight. Acting under GAR 69(1), stewards charged Azurite with marring. Mr. James pleaded guilty to the charge. Azurite was found guilty and suspended for 28 days at The Meadows and it was directed that the greyhound perform a Satisfactory Trial (all tracks), pursuant to GAR 69(2)(a) before any future nomination will be accepted.
Too Seductive was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained an injury to its left hamstring. A 3 day stand down period was imposed.
Sister Salzburg was vetted following the event. It was reported that there was no apparent injury found.
Dewana Be Sharp was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained a spike wound to its left front toe. No stand down period was imposed.
Stewards spoke to Mr. G. Micallef, the representative of the greyhound Dewana Be Sharp. Stewards deemed the performance of Dewana Be Sharp unsatisfactory in this event and acting in accordance with GAR 71, Stewards directed that Dewana Be Sharp must perform a Satisfactory Trial (all tracks) before any future nomination will be accepted.
