Premier Ching and Taylor Bale collided soon after the start. Injector and Calendar Boy collided soon after the start. Injector checked off Calendar Boy on the first turn, checking Calendar Boy, Noosa Parade, Premier Ching and Red Rocket Sox. Taylor Bale and Ledgerwood Joe collided approaching the winning post.
Taylor Bale, which won the event and then fell in the catching pen, was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained a spike wound to the left hindleg, a three day stand down period was imposed.
