Steward's Report
Stewards spoke to Ms Pia Triaca, the trainer of Legend regarding the length of time the greyhound has had between races. Legend last raced on 13 March, 2017. Ms Triaca stated that the greyhound was returning to racing after a spell.
Deadline To Meet was quick to begin. Zipping Vito was slow to begin.
Roger's In Town, Benlura, Matt Machine and Legend collided approaching the first turn, checking Benlura. Black Mumbo and Weekend Binge collided approaching the first turn. Roger's In Town and Legend collided approaching the first turn, checking Legend. Black Mumbo and Weekend Binge collided on the first turn, checking Weekend Binge which collided with Matt Machine. Matt Machine and Benlura collided on the home turn.
Legend was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained an injury to the right gracilis (back) muscle. A five-day stand down period was imposed. Stewards spoke to trainer Ms Pia Triaca in regard to the greyhound's performance; no further action was taken.
