Steward's Report
The Club Veterinary Surgeon examined Burst Through and no illness was detected. The greyhound was a late scratching at 6:06pm due to weight variation (GAR 39). A 10 day stand down period was imposed. Trainer Mr G.Robinson was fined the sum of $100.
Stewards spoke to Mr J.McCullagh, the trainer of Big End regarding the length of time the greyhound has had between races. Big End last raced on 31 December, 2016. Mr McCullagh stated that the greyhound was returning to racing after a left hind achilles injury.
Stewards spoke to Mr S.Waycott, the trainer of Idle Rocket regarding the length of time the greyhound has had between races. Idle Rocket last raced on 9 February, 2017. Mr Waycott stated that the greyhound is returning to racing after a left sesamoid injury.
Ms A.Powell trainer of Sleeping Slick declared a new weight of 32.1kg for the greyhound in accordance with GAR 39(2). Sleeping Slick last raced at 34.1kg.
Big End and Idle Rocket collided several times soon after the start checking both greyhounds. Break The Code and Sunday Sipper collided approaching the first turn and again approaching the home turn.
