Steward's Report

A pre-race sample was taken from Share.

Rapanui Rebel and Barroom Promise were slow to begin.  Dr. Watson was very slow to begin (3 lengths).  Rapanui Rebel and Barroom Promise collided soon after the start.  Taabinga Express and Walk Woody Walk collided approaching the first turn.  Walk Woody Walk checked off Taabinga Express approaching the first turn.  Taabinga Express and Rapanui Rebel collided on the first turn.  Taabinga Express raced wide approaching the second turn and eased causing Barroom Express to race wide.  Rapanui Rebel and Dr. Watson collided on the second turn checking both greyhounds.  Taabinga Express eased on the second turn.  Rapanui Rebel and Dr. Watson collided on the third turn checking Rapanui Rebel.  Share and Lakeview Isla collided on the home turn.

Taabinga Express was vetted following the event.  It was reported that there was no apparent injury found.

Stewards spoke to Mr. J. Connor, the trainer of the greyhound Taabinga Express regarding the greyhound's racing manners approaching the second turn and on the second turn.  Acting under GAR 69(A)(1), Stewards charged Taabinga Express with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment.  Mr. Connor pleaded guilty to the charge.  Taabinga Express was found guilty and suspended for 28 days at Traralgon and it was directed that the greyhound perform a Satisfactory Trial (all tracks), pursuant to GAR 69(A)(2)(a) before any future nomination will be accepted.

Rapanui Rebel was vetted following the event.  It was reported that the greyhound sustained split webbing to its left front foot.  A 7 day stand down period was imposed.
