Brough was a late scratching at 7:03AM due to injury (GAR 23). A ten-day stand down period was imposed. Stewards will require a veterinary certificate before any future nomination will be accepted.
Mikado Boy was quick to begin. Izzy Kymtony was slow to begin. Kynan's Revenge and Krazy Buzzard collided soon after the start. Mikado Boy eased at the 100m mark. Kynan's Revenge eased at the 50m mark. Kynan's Revenge and Mikado Boy collided at the 50m mark. Izzy Kymtony checked off Kynan's Revenge at the 50m mark.
Stewards spoke to Mr Jay Robinson regarding his difficulty in boxing the greyhound Ying Yang. Stewards directed that Ying Yang be boxed first in future events.
Kynan's Revenge was vetted and revetted following event eight. It was reported that the greyhound sustained no apparent injury. Stewards spoke to Mr Keith Kelly, the trainer of the greyhound Kynan's Revenge, regarding the greyhound’s racing manners at the 50m mark. Acting under GAR 69(A)(1) stewards charged Kynan's Revenge with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment. Mr Kelly pleaded guilty to the charge, Kynan's Revenge was found guilty and suspended for 28 days at Healesville and it was directed that the greyhound perform a Satisfactory Trial (all tracks), pursuant to GAR 69(A)(2)(a) before any future nomination will be accepted.
