Celestial Emma was vetted following the event.  It was reported that the greyhound sustained a laceration to the left stifle, a 10 day stand period was imposed.

Whippy Bale was vetted following the event.  It was reported that there was no apparent injury found.

Stewards spoke to Ms. K. Heinrich, the representative of the greyhound Whippy Bale regarding the greyhound's racing manners in the home straight.  Acting under GAR 69(1) Stewards charged Whippy Bale with marring.  Ms. Heinrich pleaded guilty to the charge.  Whippy Bale was found guilty and suspended for 28 days at Geelong and it was directed that the greyhound perform a Satisfactory Trial (all tracks), pursuant to GAR 69(2)(a) before any future nomination will be accepted.

Mr. J. Collins, kennel representative of Oimby Allen declared a new weight of 28.8kgs for the greyhound in accordance with GAR 39(2).  Oimby Allen last raced at 27.7kgs.

The Club Veterinary Surgeon examined Unusable and no illness was detected.  The greyhound was a late scratching at 6:12pm due to weight variation (GAR 39).  A 10 day stand down period was imposed.  Trainer, Mr. P. Furci was fined the sum of $100.

On Billy's Wings, Merc and Eat My Shorts collided soon after the start checking Eat My Shorts.  Blackpool Chuck and Merc collided soon after the start checking Merc.  Eat My Shorts checked off Merc approaching the first turn.  Eat My Shorts checked off Chelsea Drogba on the first turn.  Just Smile crossed to the rail approaching the home turn checking Merc which collided with Chelsea Drogba; Merc and Chelsea Drogba were checked as a result.  Chelsea Drogba and Blackpool Chuck collided on the home turn checking Just Smile.  Chelsea Drogba and Merc collided on the home turn checking Chelsea Drogba.  Eat My Shorts and Merc raced wide on the home turn.  On Billy's Wings, Merc and Eat My Shorts raced wide in the home straight.

Stewards spoke to the trainer of the greyhound Up Hill Jill, Mr. D. Geall in relation to the greyhound's below market expectation performance in this event.  Mr. Geall stated that the greyhound had missed the start slightly and was checked in running and lost momentum.  The greyhound was again checked in the home straight which Mr. Geall felt did not suit the greyhound's style of racing.  He added that the hoop arm, along with a small field and not leading also contributed to the greyhound's poor performance.  He further stated that the greyhound's lead up to the race was good and he thought the greyhound would perform well.  Stewards noted Mr. Geall's explanation and took no further action.

Up Hill Jill was vetted following the event.  It was reported that there was no apparent injury found.  Stewards directed that a sample be taken from the greyhound - the 3rd placegetter in this event.
