Steward's Report
A pre-race sample was taken from Nangar Bear.
Nangar Bear was slow to begin. Allen Gerwen, Tuffy Bale and Oronsay collided soon after the start checking Allen Gerwen and Tuffy Bale. Allen Gerwen and Tuffy Bale collided approaching the first turn checking Tuffy Bale. Tuffy Bale and Nangar Bear collided approaching the first turn. Eminent Reality checked off Oronsay on the first turn checking Fabriola Allen and Sacramento Sal. Eminent Reality checked off Oronsay on the second turn checking Nangar Bear. Sacramento Sal checked off Fabriola Allen entering the back straight. Nangar Bear checked off Fabriola Allen approaching the home turn. Eminent Reality eased entering the home straight and collided with Don't Kid Me. Don't Kid Me and Eminent Reality collided several times in the home straight and again approaching the winning post checking Don't Kid Me and Tuffy Bale.
Eminent Reality was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained an injury to the left deltoid muscle, a 5 day stand down period was imposed. Stewards spoke to Mrs J. Greenough, Representative of the greyhound, Eminent Reality. Acting under GAR 69(B)(1), the stewards charged Eminent Reality with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment (by reason of injury). Mrs Greenough pleaded guilty to the charge, Eminent Reality was found guilty and stewards directed that the greyhound perform a Satisfactory Trial (all tracks) pursuant to GAR 69(B)(1)(a), before any future nomination will be accepted.
