Fearless Swan was quick to begin. Division Four, Why Not Sue and Zipping Bronze were slow to begin. Spazzy Blue checked off River Crossing approaching the first turn. Division Four, Argyle Lucifer and Zipping Bronze collided approaching the second turn. Spazzy Blue contacted the running rail on the third turn checking Division Four. Why Not Sue checked off Division Four approaching the home turn.
A post-race blood sample was taken from Argyle Lucifer, unplaced in this event.
