A pre race sample was taken from Fairway Drive.
Jockey Bale and Belena Surf were slow to begin. Smoke Or Fire and Maximum Jarvis collided soon after the start checking Maximum Jarvis. Maximum Jarvis checked off Smoke Or FIre approaching the first turn. Fairway Drive and Octo Burn collided on the first turn checking Fairway Drive. Maximum Jarvis checked off Fairway Drive on the first turn. Belena Surf checked off Fairway Drive on the home turn checking Maximum Jarvis.
Fairway Drive was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained injuries to the left triceps and right biceps, a 14 day stand down period was imposed.
