Steward's Report
Stewards spoke to Mr Christopher Tuck, the trainer of Tucky's Daughter, regarding the length of time the greyhound has had between races. Tucky's Daughter last raced on 2 January 2017 and is returning after a calf injury and seasonal spell.
Canadash was quick to begin.
Violet Sky and Santana collided soon after the start. Violet Sky and Canadash collided approaching the first turn. She's Smoking pulled up approaching the first turn. Spring Time Miss checked off Violet Sky on the first turn. Violet Sky and Canadash collided several times in the home straight.
Stewards spoke to Mr John Carr, the trainer of the greyhound She's Smoking, regarding the greyhound’s racing manners approaching the first turn. She's Smoking was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained a carpal sprain to the right wrist and a five-day stand down period was imposed. Acting under GAR 69(B)(1), the stewards charged She's Smoking with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment (by reason of injury). Mr Carr pleaded guilty to the charge, She's Smoking was found guilty and stewards directed that the greyhound perform a Satisfactory Trial (all tracks) pursuant to GAR 69(B)(1)(a), before any future nomination will be accepted.
