Stewards spoke to Mr Robert Lesjak, the trainer of the greyhound Shrek's Fairy, regarding the greyhound’s racing manners on the home turn. Acting under GAR 69(1) stewards charged Shrek's Fairy with marring. Mr Lesjak pleaded not guilty to the charge, Shrek's Fairy was found guilty and suspended for 28 days at Warragul and it was directed that the greyhound perform a Satisfactory Trial (all tracks), pursuant to GAR 69(2)(a) before any future nomination will be accepted.

Stewards spoke to Mr Christopher Tuck, the trainer of Tucky's Daughter, regarding the length of time the greyhound has had between races. Tucky's Daughter last raced on 2 January 2017 and is returning after a calf injury and seasonal spell.

It was reported that the greyhound sustained a carpal sprain to the right wrist and a five-day stand down period was imposed. Acting under GAR 69(B)(1), the stewards charged She's Smoking with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment (by reason of injury). Mr Carr pleaded guilty to the charge, She's Smoking was found guilty and stewards directed that the greyhound perform a Satisfactory Trial (all tracks) pursuant to GAR 69(B)(1)(a), before any future nomination will be accepted.

Satisfactory Trial Results - Screaming Oaks trialled over the 400m from box one, weight 28.8kg, the greyhound was placed fourth in a field of four. The time of the trial was 22.84, the greyhound was beaten by a margin of 4.75L. Screaming Oaks was cleared.
