Atlas Roughead and Iceni Menace were quick to begin. Pop Do It was slow to begin.
Merl's Angel and Crook Me Kindly collided soon after the start. Lost Blue checked off the heels of Lil Blackbook approaching the first turn, checking Crook Me Kindly and Wait There, and severely checking Lost Blue which lost ground as a result. Atlas Roughead and Iceni Menace collided approaching the first turn, and again on the first turn. Atlas Roughead raced wide on the home turn.
Stewards spoke to Mr G Burton (representing trainerof the greyhound Wait There, Mr Colin Burton) regarding the greyhound’s racing manners in the home straight. Wait There was vetted and or re-vetted following event five. It was reported that the greyhound sustained a right sesamoid injury, a 14-day stand down period was imposed. Acting under GAR 69(B)(1), the stewards charged Wait There with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment (by reason of injury). Mr Burton pleaded guilty to the charge, Wait There was found guilty and stewards directed that the greyhound perform a Satisfactory Trial (all tracks) pursuant to GAR 69(B)(1)(a), before any future nomination will be accepted.
