Stewards spoke to Mr D Jeffries, the representative of the greyhound Murrabit Ranger, regarding the greyhound’s racing manners on the first turn. Murrabit Ranger was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained injuries an abrasion to the inside right thigh, and a three-day stand down period was imposed. Acting under GAR 69(B)(1), the stewards charged Murrabit Ranger with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment (by reason of injury).  Mr Jeffries pleaded guilty to the charge, Murrabit Ranger was found guilty and stewards directed that the greyhound perform a Satisfactory Trial (all tracks) pursuant to GAR 69(B)(1)(a), before any future nomination will be accepted.

Stewards spoke to Ms Cassandra Barnard, the trainer of Kruzin' Cripps, regarding the length of time the greyhound has had between races. Kruzin' Cripps last raced on 3 January 2017. Ms Barnard stated that the greyhound had been seasonal and had a change of kennel.

Satisfactory Trial Results - Swift Unit trialled over the 400m from box 7, weight 35.2kg, the greyhound was placed third in a field of 6. The time of the trial was 22.71, the greyhound was beaten by a margin of 11.5L. Swift Unit was cleared.

Satisfactory Trial Results - Fire Boss trialled over the 400m from box 8, weight 28.7kg, the greyhound was placed fifth in a field of 6. The time of the trial was 22.71, the greyhound was beaten by a margin of 23.75L. Fire Boss was not cleared.

Satisfactory Trial Results (GAR 77A) - Stewards spoke to Ms Cassandra Barnard, the trainer of Gaytime Magic, regarding the length of time since the greyhound last raced. Gaytime Magic last raced on 25 May 2016. Ms Barnard stated that there was a change of kennels. Pursuant to GAR 77A, Gaytime Magic trialled over the 400m from box 1, weight 29kg, the greyhound was placed sixth in a field of six. The time of the trial was 22.71, the greyhound was beaten by a margin of 27L. Gaytime Magic was not cleared.

Satisfactory Trial Results - Tangoette trialled over the 400m from box 4, weight 26.8kg, the greyhound was placed fourth in a field of 6. The time of the trial was 22.71, the greyhound was beaten by a margin of 16.5L. Tangoette was cleared.
