Steward's Report
Urana Smacko was slow to begin. Urana Smacko checked off Harlem Allen approaching the first turn. Urana Smacko and Harlem Allen collided on the first turn, checking Urana Smacko. Argus Filch eased on the first turn, checking Urana Smacko and Gestalt Allen. Argus Filch marred Urana Smacko on the home turn and again in the home straight, severely checking Urana Smacko. Strength To Wyn checked off Perry Bale approaching the winning post.
Argus Filch was vetted following the event. It was reported that there was no apparent injury found.
Stewards spoke to Mrs L Cockerell, the handler of the greyhound Argus Filch, regarding the greyhounds racing manners on the first turn,home turn and in the home straight. Acting under GAR 69(A)(1) Stewards charged Argus Filch with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment. Mrs Cockerell pleaded guilty to the charge, Argus Filch was found guilty and suspended for 28 days at Geelong and it was directed that the greyhound perform a Satisfactory Trial (all tracks), pursuant to GAR 69(A)(2)(a) before any future nomination will be accepted. Mrs Cockerell declined to have Argus Filch revetted.
