Stewards spoke to Mrs L Cockerell, the handler of the greyhound Argus Filch, regarding the greyhounds racing manners on the first turn,home turn and in the home straight.  Acting under GAR 69(A)(1) Stewards charged Argus Filch with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment.  Mrs Cockerell pleaded guilty to the charge, Argus Filch was found guilty and suspended for 28 days at Geelong and it was directed that the greyhound perform a Satisfactory Trial (all tracks), pursuant to GAR 69(A)(2)(a) before any future nomination will be accepted.  Mrs Cockerell declined to have Argus Filch revetted.

Dyna Lassie was quick to begin.  Fess Crockett and Fran Allen were slow to begin.  Fran Allen checked off Marko Bale on the first turn.  Izgrev and Marko Bale collided on the first turn and again on the home turn, severely checking Izgrev.  Crackerjack Brom checked off Dyna Lassie approaching the winning post.

Izgrev was vetted following the event.  It was reported that the greyhound sustained injuries to the left foreleg wrist, right foreleg monkey muscle and right hindleg triangle, a 10 day stand down period was imposed.

Kreuzenstein which trailed the field throughout was vetted following the event.  It was reported that the greyhound sustained a right hindleg triangle injury, a 14 day stand down period was imposed.

Dyna Gary was a late scratching at 1:10 pm, due to a toe injury (GAR 23).  A 10 day stand down period was imposed.  Stewards will require a veterinary certificate before any future nomination will be accepted

Pictures Pearce was a late scratching at 6:15 pm  on the advice of the Club’s Veterinary Surgeon, due to spike wounds in webbing on right front foot.  A 10 day stand down period was imposed.

Ms. A. Langton, trainer of Kreuzenstein advised stewards that a subsequent veterinary inspection of the greyhound on Saturday 13th of May, revealed a hairline fracture to the right metatarsal.
