Steward's Report

Mr. W. Donlon was fined the sum of $50 for failing to ensure the registration papers and card were produced for the greyhound Harry's Hunni pursuant to GAR 33.

A pre-race sample was taken from Jemma Diamond.

Galo's Beauty was quick to begin. Jemma Diamond, Avatar Tessy and Harry's Hunni collided soon after the start. Jemma Diamond galloped on the heels of All Inn Amber soon after the start. Galo's Beauty, Longshot Glory and Toby's Taxi collided approaching the first turn checking Longshot Glory and severely checking Toby's Taxi. Jemma Diamond and Galo's Beauty collided on the first turn severely checking Galo's Beauty which collided with All Inn Amber. Proven Ryker clipped the heels of Jemma Diamond approaching the home turn. Toby's Taxi and All Inn Amber collided approaching the home turn. Jemma Diamond eased approaching the home turn and lost ground. All Inn Amber and Jemma Diamond collided on the home turn. Proven Ryker checked off Harry's Hunni on the home turn. Proven Ryker and Longshot Glory raced wide in the home straight.

Stewards spoke to Ms. G. Moate the handler of the greyhound Jemma Diamond regarding the greyhounds racing manners approaching the home turn.  Jemma Diamond was vetted following the event.  It was reported that the greyhound sustained injuries to both wrists, a 14 day stand down period was imposed.  Acting under GAR 69(B)(1), the stewards charged Jemma Diamond with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment (by reason of injury). Ms. Moate pleaded guilty to the charge, Jemma Diamond was found guilty and stewards directed that the greyhound perform a Satisfactory Trial (all tracks) pursuant to GAR 69(B)(1)(a),  before any future nomination will be accepted.

Stewards spoke to Mr. R. Boehm regarding his difficulty in boxing the greyhound Avatar Tessy. Stewards directed that Avatar Tessy be boxed first in future events.

Stewards spoke to lure driver, Mr. S. Baldwin after he accidently moved the lure approximately 2 feet prior to the green light being switched on to start this event. Mr Baldwin stated that he thought the green light had come on. Stewards reminded him to be more vigilant in the future and referred this incident to the appropriate persons.
