Steward's Report
A pre-race sample was taken from Daintree Alice.
Our Spirit and Cosmic Kilby were slow to begin. Cosmic Kilby checked off Hotlips Matilda soon after the start. Horey's Girl, Hotlips Matilda, Fancy Bounce and Stylish Billy collided soon after the start checking Hotlips Matilda and Horey's Girl. Fancy Bounce and Cosmic Kilby collided on the home turn. Stylish Billy checked off Fancy Bounce on the home turn checking Hotlips Matilda. Fancy Bounce and Cosmic Kilby collided entering the home straight.
Stylish Billy was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained injuries to both triangles. A stand down period of 5 days was imposed.
Stewards issued a warning to Ms. J. Walker, the trainer of Stylish Billy regarding the greyhound’s racing manners on the home turn.
Satisfactory Trial Results -Drafted trialled over the 425mt from box 1, weight 29.7kg, the greyhound was placed 1st in a field of 4. The time of the trial was 24.49, the greyhound won by a margin of 1.5L. Drafted was Cleared.
Satisfactory Trial Results (Blinkers) - Blue Odessa trialled over the 425mt from box 2, weight 28.8kg, the greyhound was placed 3rd in a field of 4. The time of the trial was 24.49, the greyhound was beaten by a margin of 3.5L . Blue Odessa was Cleared To Race In Blinkers.
Satisfactory Trial Results (GAR 77A) - Stewards spoke to Mr. C. Russell, the trainer of Hot Charcoal regarding the length of time since the greyhound last raced. Hot Charcoal last raced on 26th May 2016. Mr. Russell stated that the greyhound was returning from injury to both stoppers. Pursuant to GAR 77A, Hot Charcoal trialled over the 425mt from box 4, weight 28.2kg, the greyhound was placed 2nd in a field of 4 starters. The time of the trial was 24.49, the greyhound was beaten by a margin of 1.5L . Hot Charcoal was Cleared.
