A pre-race sample was taken from Bearville Azza upon arrival at the course, prior to kennelling.
Barking Bad, Cheese Ya Later and Asa Hard Knox were slow to begin. Barking Bad, Cheese Ya Later and Asa Hard Knox collided approaching the first turn, checking Cheese Ya Later. Bearville Azza, Proven Kodiak and Deano's Gadget collided on the first turn, checking Proven Kodiak. Deano's Gadget, Diego Bale and Bearville Azza collided approaching the home turn, checking Diego Bale and Bearville Azza. Barking Bad and Diego Bale collided approaching the home turn, checking Cheese Ya Later and Proven Kodiak, and severely checking Barking Bad, Diego Bale, Asa Hard Knox and Bearville Azza, Barking Bad fell as a result.
