Stewards spoke to Ms S. Elmes, the Representative of Avatar Sandee regarding the length of time the greyhound has had between races. Avatar Sandee last raced on 6th December 2015 and is returning to racing after a seasonal spell.
Foxy Gems was quick to begin. Allen Impose was slow to begin. Avatar Sandee and Roxy's Pride collided soon after the start, checking Avatar Sandee. Banjo Bewdy and Allen Impose collided on the first turn, severely checking Banjo Bewdy. Banjo Bewdy, Foxy Gems, Down Every Road and Roxy's Pride collided on the first turn, severely checking Foxy Gems, Roxy's Pride and Down Every Road, and severely checking Banjo Bewdy which fell. Good Odds Jet tired over the concluding stages of the event.
Banjo Bewdy was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained an injury to the right monkey muscle, a 7 day stand down period was imposed.
