An Out of Competition Sample was taken from Scarlet Genie, engaged as a reserve in this event, on Friday, 8th of April, 2016 pursuant to GAR 79A.

Senni Bones was slow to begin.  Boomer and Hillbilly Spunk collided soon after the start.  Smashing Evie crossed to the rail approaching the first turn checking Hillbilly Spunk.  Boomer, Hillbilly Spunk, Kansas City, Regal Hussler and Tally Ho Kate collided on the first turn checking Tally Ho Kate and severely checking Kansas City, Regal Hussler and Hillbilly Spunk; Hillbilly Spunk fell as a result.

Hillbilly Spunk was vetted following the event.  It was reported that the greyhound sustained a dislocated right wrist.  A 28 day stand down period was imposed.

Crackerjack Ken, Jarleth, Light Of Liam and Sisco Blast collided soon after the start checking Light Of Liam and Jarleth.  Jeremiah Jack and Boston Shuffle collided soon after the start checking Jeremiah Jack.  Sisco Blast and Bobby Dillon collided approaching the second turn.  Boston Shuffle checked off Bobby Dillon on the second turn.  Bobby Dillon, Jarleth and Boston Shuffle collided on the second turn checking all three greyhounds.  Sisco Blast checked off Light Of Liam in the home straight.

It was noted that the muzzle on Light of Liam became dislodged during the running of the event.

Stewards spoke to Mr. C. Grenfell regarding his difficulty in boxing the greyhound Crackerjack Ken.  Stewards directed that Crackerjack Ken be boxed first in future events.

This event was delayed by approximately 2 minutes to wait for a Hamilton gallops race.

Delcorn Potts and No Reply collided soon after the start.  Selynya Flash, Snippyliss and Go Speaross collided on the first turn checking Snippyliss.  Delcorn Potts checked off Crash And Bash on the home turn.  Delcorn Potts checked off Go Speaross on the home turn.

Sizzling Bandit, Meridith Royarle and Tally Ho Jack were slow to begin.  Calvadoss and Evening Fawlty collided soon after the start checking Calvadoss.  Tally Ho Jack and Rohn collided approaching the first turn checking Rohn.  Tally Ho Jack checked off Evening Fawlty on the first turn.  Sizzling Bandit and Evening Fawlty collided on the first turn checking Sizzling Bandit, Rohn and Evening Fawlty.  Renegade Rebel checked off Meridith Royarle entering the home straight.

Rohn was vetted following the event.  It was reported that the greyhound sustained abrasions to its left hind leg.  A 5 day stand down period was imposed.

An Out of Competition Sample was taken from Blitzem Mocca, engaged in this event, on Friday 8th of April pursuant to GAR 79A.

Alchemy, Dream Dazzler, Fabulous Mac, Djays Larry and Highfield La La collided soon after the start checking all five greyhounds.  Alchemy, Dream Dazzler and Fabulous Mac collided on the first turn checking Dream Dazzler and Fabulous Mac.  Highfield La La crossed to the rail on the first turn checking Blitzem Mocca, Nordul's Hope, Djays Larry, Alchemy and Dream Dazzler; Nordul's Hope stumbled as a result.  Dream Dazzler checked off Da Swan entering the home straight checking Alchemy.  Fabulous Mac checked off Djays Larry in the home straight.

Nordul's Hope was vetted following the event.  It was reported that the greyhound sustained an injury to its left monkey muscle.  A 14 day stand down period was imposed.

Speed Chill was quick to begin.  Boris Lee and Flying Casey collided soon after the start checking Flying Casey.  Shiny Lad and Spring Topaz collided soon after the start.  Shiny Lad, Crackerjack Cam and Nook And Cranny collided on the first turn checking Crackerjack Cam and Nook And Cranny.  Boris Lee and Spring Topaz collided on the first turn.  Crackerjack Cam galloped on the heels of Nook And Cranny on the first turn checking Nook And Cranny.  Flying Casey checked off Leah Belena entering the home straight.

Roll 'Em Mighty was a late scratching at 10:59am on the advice of the Club's Veterinary Surgeon due to illness.  A 5 day stand down period was imposed.

Stewards spoke to Mr. K. Breen, the trainer of Betty's Moment regarding the length of time the greyhound has had between races. Betty's Moment last raced on 8th December, 2015. Mr. Breen stated that Betty's Moment is returning to racing from being on season. 

Alchemist Quest and Proven Glady were slow to begin.  Suki Suki checked off Betty's Moment on the first turn checking Paramount Arrow and Sub Zero Magic. Paramount Arrow and Sub Zero Magic collided approaching the home turn checking both greyhounds.  Suki Suki and Betty's Moment collided in the home straight.

Pason Sander and Dynamite Dixie collided on the first turn checking Danny Brook.  He's No Jet and Abbie's Dream collided on the first turn.  Powerful Molly checked off Danny Brook entering the back straight.  Powerful Molly faltered in the back straight and tailed off as a result.  Velocity Alice and Indi Allen collided on the second turn and again on the home turn checking Indi Allen.  Pason Sander tired over the concluding stages of the event.

Powerful Molly was vetted following the event.  It was reported that the greyhound sustained an injury to its right monkey muscle.  A 21 day stand down period was imposed.

An Out of Competition Sample was taken from Stevron Autos, engaged in this event, on Thursday, 7th of April, 2016 pursuant to GAR 79A.

Stewards spoke to Mr. N. Wynd, the trainer of Trav Cee regarding the length of time the greyhound has had between races. Trav Cee last raced on 18th January, 2016.  Mr. Wynd stated that he has had trouble gaining a start with Trav Cee recently. 

Mr. N. Wynd, trainer of Trav Cee declared a new weight of 32.6kgs for the greyhound in accordance with GAR 39(2).  Trav Cee last raced at 31.2kgs.

Tally Ho Lass and Trav Cee were slow to begin.  Allen Gantz and Kiwi Invasion collided soon after the start checking Kiwi Invasion.  Ima Terror and Contrive collided approaching the first turn.  Ima Terror, Contrive and Stevron Autos collided on the first turn checking Ima Terror, Contrive, Stevron Autos and Kiwi Invasion.  Contrive checked off Tally Ho Lass approaching the home turn.  Ima Terror checked off Stevron Autos on the home turn.

A pre-race sample was taken from One Mississippi.

Krisbar Fly Half was slow to begin.  Baron Bob, One Mississippi and Furiosa collided soon after the start.  Furiosa, Baroness Sally and Wicked Intent collided on the first turn checking Wicked Intent.  Baron Bob, One Mississippi, Regal Bulldog and Krisbar Fly Half collided on the first turn checking Regal Bulldog, Wicked Intent and Good Yarn.  Baroness Sally checked off Furiosa on the home turn.

Regal Bulldog was vetted following the event.  It was reported that there was no apparent injury found.

Stewards spoke to Mr. J. Wright, the trainer of Ava Crowder regarding the length of time the greyhound has had between races.  Ava Crowder last raced on 11th January, 2016.  Mr. Wright stated that he has had trouble gaining a start with Ava Crowder recently.

Mr. Wright, trainer of Ava Crowder declared a new weight of 25.3kgs for the greyhound in accordance with GAR 39(2).  Ava Crowder last raced at 26.4kgs.

A pre-race sample was taken from Hoi Polloi.

Annaley Nae Nae, Our Spirit, Cosmic George and Ava Crowder collided soon after the start checking Annaley Nae Nae and Our Spirit.  Dyna Nami and Hoi Polloi collided on the first turn checking Hoi Polloi and Annaley Nae Nae.  Mercy Me and Aggi Den collided approaching the home turn checking Mercy Me. Annaley Nae Nae and Our Spirit collided approaching the home turn checking Annaley Nae Nae.  Aggi Den raced wide entering the home straight.  Our Spirit checked off Mercy Me in the home straight.  Dyna Nami and Mercy Me collided several times approaching the winning post checking both greyhounds.

A pre-race sample was unable to be obtained from Admiral Bay.  A post race sample was subsequently taken.

Catsford Allan and Tally Ho Billy collided soon after the start.  Alejandro checked off Spiral Bek on the first turn.  Tally Ho Tink and Catsford Allan collided on the first turn checking Catsford Allan.  Spiral Bek checked off Space entering the home straight.  Space and Catsford Allan collided in the home straight.

Satisfactory Trial Results

Trial 1

Stewards spoke to Mr. W. Alley, the trainer of Cee Cee Senor regarding the length of time the greyhound has had between races.  Cee Cee Senor last raced on the round track on 10th June 2015 (The greyhound has since trialled, cleared and raced at Healesville only).  Mr. Alley stated that the greyhound was returning to race after a hock injury.  Pursuant to GAR 77A Cee Cee Senor trialled over the 390 metre distance from box 1, weight 31.6kgs.  The greyhound was placed 1st, in a field of 5.  The time of the trial was 22.34.  The greyhound won by a margin of 5.75 lengths.  Cee Cee Senor was cleared.

Stewards spoke to Mr. M. Rodgers, the trainer of Avatar Storm regarding the length of time the greyhound has had between races.  Avatar Storm last raced on 2nd October 2015.  Mr. Rodgers stated that the greyhound was returning to race after a spell.  Pursuant to GAR 77A Avatar Storm trialled over the 390 metre distance from box 4, weight 32.8kgs.  The greyhound was placed 2nd, in a field of 5.  The time of the trial was 22.34.  The greyhound was beaten by a margin of 5.75 lengths.  Avatar Storm was cleared.

Trial 2

Stewards spoke to Mr. P. Griffen, the trainer of Claretown Louie regarding the length of time the greyhound has had between races.  Claretown Louie last raced on 17th July 2015.  Mr. Griffen stated that the greyhound was returning to race after a leg injury.  Pursuant to GAR 77A Claretown Louie trialled over the 390 metre distance from box 1, weight 36.7kgs.  The greyhound was placed 1st, in a field of 4.  The time of the trial was 22.53.  The greyhound won by a margin of 0.5 lengths.  Claretown Louie was cleared.

Stewards spoke to Mr. J. Kruisselbrink, the trainer of Reverie regarding the length of time the greyhound has had between races.  Reverie last raced on 23rd September 2015.  Mr. Kruisselbrink stated that the greyhound was returning to race after a hock injury.  Pursuant to GAR 77A Reverie trialled over the 390 metre distance from box 2, weight 29.3kgs.  The greyhound was placed 2nd, in a field of 4.  The time of the trial was 22.53.  The greyhound was beaten by a margin of 0.5 lengths.  Reverie was cleared.

Pelerin trialled over the 390 metre distance from box 8, weight 33.6kgs.  The greyhound was placed 4th, in a field of 4.  The time of the trial was 22.53.  The greyhound was beaten by a margin of 15 lengths.  Pelerin was not cleared to race in blinkers.
