Steward's Report
Stewards spoke to Ms Melissa Fullerton, the handler of Red Hot Millie, regarding the length of time the greyhound has had between races. Red Hot Millie last raced on 3 January 2017. Ms Fullerton stated that the greyhound had been recovering from a right back muscle injury.
A pre-race sample was taken from Red Hot Bella.
Infinite Senor and Red Hot Millie collided on the first turn, checking Red Hot Millie. Red Hot Bella and Infinite Senor collided approaching the first turn, checking Red Hot Bella which contacted the running rail. Red Hot Bella checked off Showtime Chevi on the first turn. Red Hot Millie crossed to the outside on the home turn. Red Hot Millie eased entering the home straight.
Stewards spoke to Ms Melissa Fullerton, the handler of the greyhound Red Hot Millie, regarding the greyhound's racing manners entering the home straight. Red Hot Millie was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained injuries to the left deltoid and right tensor fascia (triangle) muscles, and a seven-day stand down period was imposed. Acting under GAR 69(B)(1), the stewards charged Red Hot Millie with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment (by reason of injury). Ms Fullerton pleaded guilty to the charge; Red Hot Millie was found guilty and stewards directed that the greyhound perform a Satisfactory Trial (all tracks) pursuant to GAR 69(B)(1)(a), before any future nomination will be accepted.
