A pre-race sample was taken from Better Way.
Sisco Rascal, Toby's Taxi and Black Lesta were quick to begin. Why Not Will and It Is Done were slow to begin.
Toby's Taxi and Gobbledegook collided approaching the first turn, checking Toby's Taxi and Better Way. Sisco Rascal galloped on Gobbledegook approaching the first turn, checking both greyhounds; Gobbledegook lost ground as a result. Better Way and Toby's Taxi collided approaching the home turn, checking Toby's Taxi. Iceni Rival and Black Lesta collided approaching the home turn, checking Black Lesta. Black Lester raced wide entering the home straight, checking Why Not Will.
Gobbledegook was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained injuries to both tensor fascia (triangle) muscles and the right pectineus (groin) muscle. A five-day stand down period was imposed.
