Steward's Report

Why Not Tuppence was quick to begin.  Flying Danger was slow to begin.  Gotcha Mate, Blue Cat Wombat and Flying Danger collided soon after the start checking Blue Cat Wombat.  Perfect Storm, Edna Sparkle and Our Charlie Rose collided soon after the start checking Edna Sparkle.  Why Not Tuppence, Perfect Storm and Our Charlie Rose collided on the first turn checking Our Charlie Rose and severely checking Perfect Storm. Majik Mikado eased on the first turn.  Why Not Tuppence and Our Charlie Rose collided approaching the home turn checking Why Not Tuppence.  Our Charlie Rose and Majik Mikado collided on the home turn.  Majik Mikado eased in the home straight and collided with Our Charlie Rose.

Perfect Storm was vetted following the event.  It was reported that the greyhound sustained a left monkey muscle injury and a right hind calf muscle injury, a 14 day stand down period was imposed.

Our Charlie Rose was vetted following the event.  It was reported that the greyhound sustained a left metacarpal fracture and a left monkey muscle injury, a 28 day stand down period was imposed.

Stewards spoke to Ms. M. Barber, the trainer of the greyhound Majik Mikado regarding the greyhound's racing manners on the first turn.  Majik Mikado was vetted and after being re vetted following event 7, it was reported that the greyhound was found to have soreness in the right achilles tendon, a 10 day stand down period was imposed.  Acting under GAR 69(B)1, the stewards charged Majik Mikado with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment (by reason of injury).  Ms. Barber pleaded guilty to the charge,  Majik Mikado was found guilty and stewards directed that the greyhound perform a Satisfactory Trial (all tracks) pursuant to GAR 69(B)(1)(a), before any future nomination will be accepted.
