Steward's Report
Galloping Benny was slow to begin. Gatwick and Kouta Mayhem collided soon after the start, checking Kouta Mayhem. Kouta Gold and Kouta Mayhem collided approaching the second turn, severely checking Kouta Gold, Kouta Mayhem, Respondent and Alpha Themis, causing Kouta Mayhem and Alpha Themis to fall and Respondent to race wide. Galloping Benny and Kouta Gold collided on the third turn, checking Kouta Gold. Jakey Rocket faltered on home turn and pulled up.
Jakey Rocket was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained a fractured right tibia, and was humanely euthanased.
Kouta Mayhem was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained an injured left shoulder and abrasions and bruising to the left and right foreleg, a 10 day stand down period was imposed.
Alpha Themis was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained an injured left triangle muscle and abrasions to the left hind leg, a 5 day stand down period was imposed.
Samples were taken from Gatwick (1st) and Dundee Tango (2nd).
Stewards inspected the track on the home turn after Jakey Rocket sustained an injury and found the track to be safe.
