Steward's Report
Ms. Barber the trainer of Wildcard Babe declared a new weight of 27.0kg for the greyhound in accordance with GAR 39(2). Wildcard Babe lasted raced at 25.6kg.
A pre-race sample from Fan The Top was aborted due to contamination, a post race sample was subsequently taken.
Runnin' On Fire was quick to begin. Yabba Dabba Do and Akina Dee Jay collided soon after the start, approaching the first turn and again on the first turn. Wildcard Babe and Fan The Top collided on the first turn checking both greyhounds. Yabba Dabba Do and Akina Dee Jay collided approaching the second turn. Wildcard Babe eased on the home turn checking Fan The Top and Yabba Dabba Do.
Wildcard Babe was vetted following the event. It was reported that there was no injury apparent.
Stewards spoke to Ms. M. Barber the trainer of the greyhound Wildcard Babe regarding the greyhound's racing manners on the home turn. Acting under GAR 69(A)(1) Stewards charged Wildcard Babe with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment. Ms. Barber pleaded guilty to the charge, Wildcard Babe was found guilty and suspended the greyhound for 12 months all tracks and it was directed that the greyhound perform a satisfactory trial all tracks pursuant to GAR 69(A)(2)(c) before any future nomination will be accepted.
