Steward's Report
Stewards spoke to Mr.B.Thomson, the trainer of Blackberry Road regarding the length of time the greyhound has had between races. Blackberry Road ast raced on 31 December 2015. Mr.Thomson stated that the greyhound was returning to race after spelling.
Stewards spoke to Ms.D.Carr the trainer of Secret Choice regarding the length of time the greyhound has had between races. Secret Choice last raced on 30 December 2015. Ms.Carr stated the greyhound was resuming racing following a left front toenail injury.
A pre race sample was taken from Belt Up Foss.
Space Emm crossed to the rail soon after the start. Blackberry Road and Fiery Melody collided approaching the first turn. Belt Up Foss crossed to the rail on the first turn checking Fiery Melody, Mr Perfect, Blackberry Road, Secret Choice and Jetmag Gemstone. Blackberry Road galloped on the heels of Secret Choice on the first turn checking Blackberry Road and severely checking Secret Choice. Mr Perfect checked off Jetmag Gemstone in the home straight.
Secret Choice was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained an abrasion to the right hock. No stand down period was imposed.
The time 22.52 inadvertently appeared on the semaphore board before being corrected by the judge to 22.83 prior to the all clear being notified.
