Steward's Report
Stewards spoke to Mr.S.Daniliuk, the trainer of So Vivacious regarding the length of time the greyhound has had between races. So Vivacious last raced on 6 January 2016. Mr.Daniliuk stated that the greyhound was resuming racing following a right hind toenail injury.
A pre race sample was taken from Urana Roman.
Zipping Vito was slow to begin.
Levenseat Bevan and So Vivacious collided soon after the start checking So Vivacious. Levenseat Bevan crossed to the rail approaching the first turn checking Zipping Jane, Spring Clarkie and Mepunga Paddy. Mepunga Paddy contacted the rail on the first turn and lost considerable ground. Zipping Vito, Moreira Magic and Levenseat Bevan collided on the first turn checking Zipping Jane and Moreira Magic. Urana Roman galloped on the heels of Spring Clarkie approaching the home turn. Moreira Magic and So Vivacious collided on the home turn checking Moreira Magic. Moreira Magic, Urana Roman and Mepunga Paddy collided entering the home straight checking Urana Roman and Mepunga Paddy.
Mepunga Paddy was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained an abrasion to the left shin, a laceration to the left hindleg and a spike wound to the right toe. No stand down period was imposed.
Stewards spoke to Mr P Pace regarding his difficulty in boxing the greyhound Moreira Magic Stewards directed that Moreira Magic be boxed first in future events.
