Steward's Report
A pre-race sample was taken from Bronco De Jurer upon arrival at the course, prior to kennelling.
Peggy Dooley, Still The One, Sonic Sprite and Bobby's Baby were slow to begin.
Peggy Dooley and Bronco De Jurer collided several times approaching the first turn. Still The One, Pink Shoelaces and Sonic Sprite collided on the first turn checking Still The One, Pink Shoelaces, Sonic Sprite and Bobby's Baby. Peggy Dooley, Bronco De Jurer and Darcon Dash collided on the first turn. Pink Shoelaces contacted the running rail on the second turn and lost ground.
Pink Shoelaces was vetted following the event. It was reported that there was no apparent injury found.
A sample was taken from About To Rock.
Meeting Comments:
Following kennelling Stewards spoke to trainer Mr. B Klemke (Lektra Khan) regarding the circumstances pertaining to the scratching of the greyhound from the Meadows on 30th March 2016. Mr Klemke explained that his car had overheated on the way to the Meadows and needed to be towed to a nearby property. Mr Klemke also explained that in the timeframe available he was unable to source a lift from another person. Stewards also noted that Mr Klemke had produced a mechanical receipt verifying relevant information and that all penalties related to the scratching had been previously lifted.
