Mighty Matlock crossed to the inside soon after the start checking Nessie Allen and Jack Walker. Nessie Allen, Mighty Matlock and Burekup Jack collided on the first turn checking Mighty Matlock. Unique Replica and Striker Klinsman collided on the first turn. Jack Walker crossed to the outside on the first turn and collided with Unique Replica severely checking Unique Replica. Burekup Jack and Striker Klinsman collided on the second turn checking both greyhounds. Nessie Allen crossed to the outside on the home turn and marred Burekup Jack.
Nessie Allen was vetted following the event. It was reported that there was no apparent injury found.
Stewards spoke to Mrs H. Collins, the trainer of the greyhound Nessie Allen regarding the greyhounds racing manners on home turn. Acting under GAR 69(1) stewards charged Nessie Allen with marring. Mrs H. Collins pleaded guilty to the charge ,Nessie Allen was found guilty and suspended for 28 days at Sandown and it was directed that the greyhound perform a Satisfactory Trial (all tracks), pursuant to GAR 69(2)(a)before any future nomination will be accepted.
