Pursuant to GAR 104 (6) Judge, Ms. J. Elston did not act in any official capacity for this event.
Dashing Des was quick to begin. Stormy Jack, Cosmic Reign and Zipping Frank were slow to begin. Sheldon Rose and Lightning Lil collided soon after the start checking Lightning Lil. Lightning Lil, Stormy Jack, Epirez and Cosmic Reign collided approaching the first turn. Dashing Des, Sheldon Rose, Zipping Frank and Dashing Doris collided on the first turn checking Sheldon Rose and Dashing Doris. Stormy Jack galloped on Dashing Doris approaching the home turn. Stormy Jack, Epirez and Cosmic Reign collided on the home turn checking Stormy Jack and Cosmic Reign and severely checking Epirez
Stormy Jack was vetted and after being re vetted following event 6, it was reported that the greyhound was found to have soreness along the length of spinal muscles from shoulders to hips and hock soreness, a 10 day stand down period was imposed.
Stewards spoke to Ms. G. Elston the trainer of the greyhound Stormy Jack regarding the greyhound's racing manners approaching the home turn. Ms. Elston stated the greyhound was only a young dog having it's second start and in her opinion was racing very greenly. Taking into consideration the injuries suffered and the greyhound was only having it's second start, Stewards issued a warning regarding the greyhound's racing manners approaching the home turn and took no further action.
Dashing Doris was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound was found to have soreness in the back and shoulders, a 7 day stand down period was imposed.
