Stewards spoke to J. Riley, the handler of Apple Cyder regarding the length of time the greyhound has had between races.  Apple Cyder last raced on 25th October, 2015. Ms Riley stated that the greyhound was returning from a spell.

Ronell Hubbard and Running Home were slow to begin and collided soon after the start, checking both greyhounds. The Club Veterinary Surgeon examined Onslaught and no illness was detected. The greyhound was a late scratching at 2.40p.m due to weight variation (GAR 39). A 10 day stand down period was imposed. Trainer Ms A. Courts was fined the sum of $100.

Stewards spoke to Ms J. Riley, the trainer of Jazz Apple regarding the length of time the greyhound has had between races.  Jazz Apple last raced on 30th October, 2015. Ms Riley stated that the greyhound was resuming from a spell.  Ms Riley also declared a new weight of 25.9kg for the greyhound in accordance with GAR 39(2).  Jazz Apple last raced at 27.1kg.

Paranorman was slow to begin. Jazz Apple went up with the lids at box rise and was slow to begin. Pingu and Maybe Vegas collided soon after the start, checking Pingu. Maybe Vegas checked off King Of Sunshine approaching the home turn, severely checking Pingu. Jazz Apple and Pingu collided on the home turn, severely checking Jazz Apple which raced wide.
