Ashtastic was quick to begin. Skylock Kahn crossed to the rail soon after the start, checking Challis Jack, Salshora, Kris Kahn, Buddy Goode, Ashtastic and Bobbi Delicious. Bobbi Delicious clipped the heels of Ashtastic soon after the start, checking Bobbi Delicious. Bobbi Delicious and Buddy Goode collided approaching the first turn, checking both greyhounds and causing Bobbi Delicious to contact the running rail as a result. Bobbi Delicious and Buddy Goode collided on the first turn, checking Buddy Goode. Salshora raced wide from the first turn until the second turn. Skylock Kahn checked off Challis Jack entering the back straight, which stumbled and lost ground as a result. Bobbi Delicious and Kris Kahn collided on the home turn, checking Kris Kahn.
