Silent Fletch checked off Jonny Quick Step approaching the first turn. Fabstar and Carbon Racer collided approaching the first turn. Rambo's Party checked off Jonny Quick Step approaching the home turn. Silent Fletch and Bojack Kahn collided approaching the home turn. Carbon Racer checked off Fabstar approaching the home turn. Jonny Quick Step galloped on the heels of Carbon Racer approaching the home turn checking both greyhounds. Rambo's Party and Jonny Quick Step collided approaching the home turn and entering the home straight. Rambo's Party and Jonny Quick Step raced wide and collided in the home straight. Jonny Quick Step was vetted following the event. It was reported that there was no apparent injury.
Stewards spoke to B Keel the handler of the greyhound Jonny Quick Step regarding the greyhounds racing manners approaching the winning post. Acting under GAR 69(1) stewards charged Jonny Quick Step with marring. Mr Keel pleaded not guilty to the charge, Jonny Quick Step was found guilty and suspended for 28 days at Ballarat and it was directed that the greyhound perform a Satisfactory Trial (all tracks), pursuant to GAR 69(2)(a) before any future nomination will be accepted.
