Steward's Report
A pre-race sample was taken from Megellas Fairy upon arrival at the course, prior to kennelling.
Pre-race samples were taken from Blackpool Chuck and Raw Ability.
Blackpool Chuck and Raw Ability collided soon after the start checking both greyhounds. Duty Free, Megellas Fairy and He's Historic collided soon after the start checking all three greyhounds. He's Historic and Blackpool Chuck collided soon after the start checking He's Historic, Blackpool Chuck, Megellas Fairy and Duty Free. Duty Free checked off Harry Fields on the first turn. He's Historic and Liebig Street collided on the first turn checking Liebig Street. Blackpool Chuck galloped on Harry Fields entering the back straight checking Harry Fields which contacted the running rail as a result. Duty Free and Liebig Street collided on the third turn. Duty Free and Blackpool Chuck collided approaching the home turn checking Duty Free. Harry Fields eased on the home turn checking He's Historic, Duty Free and Megellas Fairy.
Stewards spoke to Mr M. Puleio, the trainer of the greyhound Harry Fields regarding the greyhounds racing manners on the home turn. Harry Fields was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained injuries to the left deltoid, a 5day stand down period was imposed. Acting under GAR 69(B)(1), the stewards charged Harry Fields with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment (by reason of injury). Mr Puleio pleaded guilty to the charge, Harry Fields was found guilty and stewards directed that the greyhound perform a Satisfactory Trial (all tracks) pursuant to GAR 69(B)(1)(a), before any future nomination will be accepted.
