Stephie Keats was quick to begin.  Cambo's Cindy was slow to begin.  Miss Dee Meadows and Simbarea collided soon after the start.  Spritney Beers and Toff collided soon after the start.  Spritney Beers, Toff, Fancy Minter and Miss Dee Meadows collided approaching the first turn.  Toff, Spritney Beers and Cambo's Cindy collided approaching the first turn checking Spritney Beers and Cambo's Cindy.  Fancy Minter and Miss Dee Meadows collided approaching the second turn.  Fancy Minter was checked off Toff entering the back straight.  Cambo's Cindy and Simbarea collided in the back straight.

Simbarea was vetted following the event. It was reported that the geryhound sustained an injured right hip, a 10 day stand down period was imposed.

Stewards spoke to Mr. W. McMahon the trainer of Dr. Toretto regarding the length of time the greyhound has had between races.  Dr. Toretto last raced on 08/11/16.  Mr. McMahon stated that the greyhound was returning to racing following a ligament injury to a left hind toe.

Stewards spoke to Mr. D. Pulis the representative of Apollo's Twin regarding the length of time the greyhound has had between races.  Apollo's Twin last raced on 20/12/16.  Mr. Pulis stated that the greyhound was returning to racing following a seasonal spell.

Dr. Poppel and Mandela Sun were slow to begin.  Machiko, We Have Hope, Cookie Rose collided on the first turn checking Machiko and We Have Hope .  Dr. Poppel was checked off Machiko entering the back straight.  Cookie Rose and Mandela Sun collided approaching the home turn.  Dr. Poppel and Mandela Sun collided entering the home straight.  Mandela Sun eased in the home straight and collided with Machiko checking both greyhounds.

Mandela Sun was vetted following the event and after being re-vetted following event 12, it was reported that there was no injury apparent.

Stewards spoke to Mr. P. Pollutro the trainer of the greyhound Mandela Sun regarding the greyhound's racing manners in the home straight.  Acting under GAR 69(A)(1) Stewards charged Mandela Sun with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment.  Mr. Pollutro pleaded guilty to the charge, Mandela Sun was found guilty and suspended for 28 days at Traralgon and it was directed that the greyhound perform a satisfactory trial all tracks pursuant to GAR 69(A)(2)(a) before any future nomination will be accepted.

A pre-race sample was taken from Rose Magic.

Rose Magic, Spazzy Blue and Shanks Very Much were slow to begin.  My Names Schultz and Booma Mikado collided soon after the start.  Booma Mikado and Dulcet Sound collided on the first turn.  Rose Magic, Mint Burst, My Names Schultz and Booma Mikado collided approaching the home turn checking Rose Magic and severely checking Mint Burst, My Names Schultz and Booma Mikado causing Dulcet Sound to race wide.

Crusader was vetted following the event and after being re-vetted 40 minutes later, it was reported that there was no injury apparent.

Stewards spoke to Mr. P. Grice the trainer of the greyhound Crusader.  Stewards deemed the performace of Crusader unsatisfactory in this event and acting in accordance with GAR 71, Stewards directed that Crusader must perform a satisfactory trial all tracks before any future nomination will be accepted.

Black Odessa trialled over 395 metres from box 1, weight 28.3kg, the greyhound was placed first in a field of 4.  The time of the trial was 22.81 secs, the greyhound won by a margin of 3 lengths.  Black Odessa was cleared.

Barnie's Bullet trialled over 315 metres from box 1, weight 23.8kg, the greyhound was placed second in a field of 4.  The time of the trial was 18.43 secs, the greyhound was beaten by a margin of .5 length.   Barnie's Bullet was cleared.
