This race was delayed by approximately 5 minutes due to a malfunction with the Judges equipment. 

Shout Aloud, Searching and Verta Bale were slow to begin. Secret Chord, Ledgerwood Molly and Zambora Krystal collided on the first turn, checking Secret Chord, Ledgerwood Molly, Zambora Krystal, Trouble and Shout Aloud. Secret Chord checked off Searching on the first turn. Oddball Quick crossed to the rail approaching the home turn, severely checking Searching. Ledgerwood Molly and Verta Bale collided approaching the home turn, and again on the home turn, checking both greyhounds. Secret Chord galloped on the heels of Searching entering the home straight, checking both greyhounds. Trouble pulled up in the home straight and failed to finish. 

Trouble was vetted following the event. It was reported that there was no apparent injury found. Trainer Mrs. L. Delbridge declined to have the greyhound re-vetted.

Searching was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained an injury to the right triangle, a 7 day stand down period was imposed.

Stewards spoke to Mrs. L. Delbridge, the trainer of the greyhound Trouble regarding the greyhounds racing manners in the home straight.  Acting under GAR 69(A)(1) stewards charged Trouble with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment. Mrs. Delbridge pleaded guilty to the charge, Trouble was found guilty and suspended for 28 days at Warrnambool and it was directed that the greyhound perform a Satisfactory Trial (all tracks), pursuant to GAR 69(A)(2)(a) before any future nomination will be accepted.

Stewards spoke to Ms. J. Mcdowall, the trainer of Jemma's Fantasy regarding the length of time the greyhound has had between races. Jemma's Fantasy last raced on the 10th of November, 2016. Ms. Mcdowall stated that Jemma's Fantasy is returning to racing from being on season.

Fess Crockett and Big Tilly were slow to begin. Poppy's Ollie, Jemma's Fantasy and Revel collided approaching the first turn, checking Jemma's Fantasy. Ashanti Alinga and Jemma's Fantasy collided on the first turn, checking both greyhounds. Poppy's Ollie and Revel collided on the first turn, checking Poppy's Ollie. Big Tilly contacted the running rail on the home turn.

Black Legend was slow to begin. Prince Cheviot and Corleone King  collided soon after the start. Tiarna Keeping and Bushman's Legend collided approaching the first turn, causing Bushman's Legend to contact the running rail. Suspicious Col crossed to the outside on the first trun, checking Corleone King. Prince Cheviot and Corleone King collided approaching the home turn, checking both greyhounds. Suspicious Col raced wide on the home turn, checking Zambora Pride. Prince Cheviot, Black Legend and Corleone King collided on the home turn, checking all three greyhounds. Black Legend, Prince Cheviot, Corleone King, Suspicious Col and Zambora Pride collided entering the home straight, checking Suspicious Col and Zambora Pride, and severely checking Prince Cheviot and Corleone King.

Al's Luck was slow to begin. Zambora Caitlyn checked off Kalahari Sands approaching the first turn, checking Miss Pineapple. Ocean Bay galloped on the heels of Zambora Caitlyn approaching the home turn, checking both greyhounds. Country Jane checked off Allen Yani on the home turn. 

Lynlea Jiddy, Fabstar and Pretty Boy Grigg collided approaching the first turn, checking Pretty Boy Grigg. Pretty Boy Grigg, Champion Exhibit and Lynlea Jiddy collided on the first turn, checking Champion Exhibit and Lynlea Jiddy. Miss Morrisset and Fabstar collided approaching the home turn, checking Fabstar. Champion Exhibit checked off Teflon Travis on the first turn, and again approaching the home turn. 

Allen Impose was slow to begin. Implosion Liam checked off Crackerjack Pest on the first turn, checking Fawn Pursuit. Implosion Liam, Allen Impose and Fawn Pursuit collided approaching the home turn, checking all three greyhounds. Allen Impose and Fawn Pursuit collided entering the home straight, checking Fawn Pursuit.

Allen Varmint was a late scratching at 6.10 PM on the advice of the Club’s Veterinary Surgeon due to split webbing. A 5 day stand down period was imposed.

Bella Rhode checked off Bushman's Idol on the first turn, checking Ridd's Flyer and Modern Value. Brae's Girl and Noosa Parade collided on the first turn, checking Noosa Parade. Ridd's Flyer checked off Modern Value approaching the home turn, checking Faith No More. Bella Rhode and Modern Value collided approaching the home turn, checking both greyhounds. Fast Freddie, Kalara and Zambora Cash collided soon after the start, checking Kalara. Lulu Lollipop checked off Miss Torrez on the first turn, and collided with Kalara. Right Said Frank and Talzanna collided approaching the home turn. Talzanna galloped on the heels of Zambora Cash approaching the home turn, checking Right Said Frank, Zambora Cash, Talzanna, Aston Viva, Miss Torrez and Kalara. Right Said Frank checked off Talzanna on the home turn. Right Said Frank and Miss Torrez collided entering the home straight.

Stewards spoke to Mr. J. Willoughby, the handler of Rosie Sprite regarding the length of time the greyhound has had between races. Rosie Sprite last raced on the 12th of October, 2016. Mr. Willoughby stated that Rosie Sprite is returning to racing from a change of kennel. Mr. Willoughby also declared a new weight of 28.7 kg's for the greyhound in accordance with GAR 39(2). Rosie Sprite last raced at 30.4 kg's.

Stewards spoke to Ms. T. Deglaitis, the trainer of Sachi regarding the length of time the greyhound has had between races. Sachi last raced on the 1st of October, 2016. Ms. Deglaitis stated that Sachi is returning to racing from a toe injury. Ms. Deglaitis also declared a new weight of 32.7 kg's for the greyhound in accordance with GAR 39(2). Sachi last raced at 33.8 kg's.

Podium Babe was quick to begin. Podium Babe and Noonbarra Joe collided approaching the home turn. Sachi checked off Kate's Boy approaching the home turn. Noonbarra Joe, Podium Babe and Kate's Boy collided on the home turn, checking Kate's Boy, which became unbalanced. Kate's Boy and Tanjira collided entering the home straight. 

Optic Bray and Amari were slow to begin. Optic Bray checked off Rosie Bay on the first turn. Brazen Fool checked off Amari approaching the home turn, checking Rosie bay. 

The judges inadvertently semaphored the numbers 7, 1, 6 and 2. This was rectified to the correct placings of 7,6,1 and 2 and the All Clear was given.

Satisfactory Trial Results (GAR 77A) - Stewards spoke to Ms. P. Bryant, the trainer of Carry On Rose regarding the length of time since the greyhound last raced. Carry On Rose last raced on 6th May 2016. Ms. Primrose stated that the greyhound had been on season. Pursuant to GAR 77A, Carry On Rose trialled over the 390m from box one, weight 26.5kg, the greyhound was placed third in a field of four. The time of the trial was 22.53, the greyhound was beaten by a margin of 2.5 lengths. Carry On Rose was Cleared.
