Stewards spoke to Mr. D. Trethowan, the trainer of Miracle Cherry regarding the length of time the greyhound has had between races.  Miracle Cherry last raced on 21st November, 2016. Mr. Trethowan stated that the greyhound was returning to racing after being on season.  Mr. Trethowan also declared a new weight of 27.3kg for the greyhound in accordance with GAR 39(2). Miracle Cherry last raced at 26.1kg.

Johnny Dunbar was quick to begin. One Moore Page, Crainy's Wish and Miracle Cherry were slow to begin. Hydepark Flyer and Jessie Oh collided soon after the start. Crainy's Wish and All Inn Johnson collided soon after the start and again approaching the first turn. Miracle Cherry and Jessie Oh collided approaching the first turn checking Jessie Oh. Chugalug was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound showed signs of mild thumps. A stand down period of 3 days was imposed.

Stewards spoke to Mr. P. Brown, the trainer of the greyhound Dynastic Ruler regarding the greyhounds racing manners approaching the winning post. Dynastic Ruler was vetted following the event.  It was reported that the greyhound sustained injuries to the left monkey muscle and the left wrist, a 14 day stand down period was imposed.  Acting under GAR 69(B)(1), the stewards charged Dynastic Ruler with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment (by reason of injury). Mr. Brown pleaded guilty to the charge, Dynastic Ruler was found guilty and stewards directed that the greyhound perform a Satisfactory Trial (all tracks) pursuant to GAR 69(B)(1)(a), before any future nomination will be accepted.

Stewards spoke to Ms. K. Jordan regarding the direction that the greyhound El Grand Pepe be boxed first. Acting under GAR 52(2) Stewards directed that this box first be removed.

Azza was a late scratching at 4.30p.m. on 8th March, 2017 by Order Of Stewards.  No stand down period was imposed.

A pre-race sample was taken from All Inn Kayla.

All Inn Kayla and Roman Around collided on the first turn checking both greyhounds. Roman Around checked off Groucho approaching the home turn checking Brazen Beetroot. All Inn Kayla faltered approaching the home turn and tailed off. Morta Bella and Brazen Beetroot collided approaching the winning post.

All Inn Kayla was vetted following the event.  It was reported that the greyhound sustained a fractured right hock, and was humanely euthanased.
