Steward's Report
Stewards spoke to Mr. J. Stemmer the trainer of Murphy's Magic regarding the length of time the greyhound has had between races. Murphy's Magic last raced on 03/12/16. Mr. Stemmer stated that the greyhound was returning to racing following a tendon injury.
Edna Sparkle went up with the lids at box rise and was slow to begin. Pacific Power was slow to begin. Santana was checked off Murphy's Magic approaching the first turn. Tiger Bobby and Murphy's Magic collided on the first turn. Tiger Bobby was checked off Edna Sparkle on the first turn. Murphy's Magic eased in the home straight. Murphy's Magic marred Candyo approaching the winning post.
Stewards spoke to Mr. J. Stemmer the trainer of the greyhound Murphy's Magic regarding the greyhound's racing manners in the home straight. Murphy's Magic was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained an injured left monkey muscle, a 14 day stand down period was imposed. Acting under GAR 69(B)(1) the Stewards charged Murphy's Magic with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment by reason of injury. Mr. Stemmer pleaded guilty to the charge, Murphy's Magic was found guilty and Stewards directed that the greyhound perform a satisfactory trial all tracks pursuant to GAR 69(B)(1((a) before any future nomination will be accepted.
