Steward's Report
A pre-race sample was taken from Aston Gisle.
Crackerjack Pest and Hogwarts Express were slow to begin.
Permafrost and Destini Wahoo collided on the first turn. Shotgun Doll, Yuken Duet and Dr. Sherlock collided on the first turn. Permafrost, Hogwarts Express and Aston Gisle collided on the first turn checking Aston Gisle. Crackerjack Pest crossed out and eased colliding several times with Aston Gisle approaching the second turn, severely checking Aston Gisle causing Aston Gisle to lose ground and subsequently tailed off.
Aston Gisle was vetted following the event. It was reported that there was no apparent injury found. Stewrds spoke to Mrs A. Jackson, the handler of Aston Gisle and requested she advise the trainer Mrs. J Greenough of GAR 75.
Stewards spoke to Mr J. Sharp, the representative of the greyhound Crackerjack Pest regarding the greyhounds racing manners approaching the second turn. Crackerjack Pest was vetted and re-vetted following event 12. It was reported that the greyhound sustained left hock and left fore spike wounds, a 5 day stand down period was imposed. Acting under GAR 69(B)(1), the stewards charged Crackerjack Pest with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment (by reason of injury). Mr Sharp pleaded not guilty to the charge, Crackerjack Pest was found guilty and stewards directed that the greyhound perform a Satisfactory Trial (all tracks) pursuant to GAR 69(B)(1)(a), before any future nomination will be accepted.
