A pre-race sample was taken from He's So Good upon arrival at the course, prior to kennelling.
Above All, Weblec Belle and He's So Good were quick to begin. Blazin' Bomber was slow to begin. Above All, Weblec Belle and He's So Good collided on the first turn. Above All, Money Come Back, Weblec Belle, He's So Good and Quarrel Bale collided entering the back straight, checking Quarrel Bale, severely checking Weblec Belle and Blazin' Bomber, Blazin' Bomber which fell as a result. Money Come Back and El Surrao collided on the third turn, causing El Surrao to fall.
El Surrao was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained a right shoulder injury, a 5 day stand down period was imposed.
