Steward's Report
A pre-race sample was taken from Aston Noir.
Cosmic Witch and Aston Noir were quick to begin. Hendo Blue and Yorgi Blues were slow to begin. Never Satisfied, Strawbs and Cosmic Trickstar collided soon after the start checking Strawbs and Cosmic Trickstar. Yorgi Blues and Nikita's Marlow collided on the first turn checking Nikita's Marlow. Cosmic Witch eased approaching the second turn. Cosmic Witch crossed to the rail entering the back straight checking Aston Noir. Hendo Blue and Never Satisfied collided entering the back straight. Never Satisfied and Cosmic Trickstar collided approaching the home turn.
Stewards spoke to Mr. G. Hall the handler of the greyhound Cosmic Witch regarding the greyhound's racing manners approaching the second turn. Cosmic Witch was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained an injured right monkey muscle, a 10 day stand down period was imposed. Acting under GAR 69(B)1 the Stewards charged Cosmic Witch with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment by reason of injury. Mr. Hall pleaded not guilty to the charge. Cosmic Witch was found guilty and Stewards directed that the greyhound perform a satisfactory trial all tracks pursuant to GAR 69(B)(1)(a) before any future nomination will be accepted.
Track Report:-
Track Curator Mr. A. Inger advised Stewards that the track was deeply harrowed and graded on Wednesday 3rd February.
