A pre-race sample was taken from Big Boy Rocket.
This event was delayed by approximately 2 minutes to allow for Grafton gallops.
Shout Aloud and Riverdale Cocky were slow to begin. Margin Call and Magic Dance collided approaching the first turn. Paddy's Cripp, Margin Call, Destini Tweed and Big Boy Rocket collided on the first turn severely checking Paddy's Cripp, Riverdale Cocky, Margin Call and Destini Tweed. Cosmo Lass and Magic Dance collided approaching the home turn severely checking Cosmo Lass. Paddy's Cripp checked off Big Boy Rocket in the home straight.
Cosmo Lass was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained spike wounds to its right hind and right front feet. A 3 day stand down period was imposed.
Margin Call was vetted following the event. It was reported that there was no apparent injury found.
Stewards issued a warning to Mr. A. Marum, the handler of Margin Call regarding the greyhound's racing manners on the first turn.
