Steward's Report
A pre-race sample was taken from Iroquois Souljah.
Petentim was slow to begin. Elite Panther, All Inn Menphis and Iroquois Souljah collided approaching the first turn, checking Elite Oanther. All Inn Menphis, Iroquois Souljah and Squeaky Gate collided on the first turn, checking Iroquois Souljah which pulled up as a result. Petentim and Dodge The Cop collided on the first turn. Miss Utamurra and Dodge The Cop collided on the home turn.
Iroquois Souljah was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained an injury to the right back muscle, a twenty-eight day stand down period was imposed.
Meeting Comments:
Satisfactory Trial Results (GAR 77A) - Stewards spoke to Mr J.Formosa, the trainer of Suave Odessa regarding the length of time since the greyhound last raced. Suave Odessa last raced on 7th March, 2016. Mr Formosa stated that the greyhound was returning to racing after a back muscle injury. Pursuant to GAR 77A, Suave Odessa trialled over the 390m from box 1, weight 30.7kg, the greyhound was placed 1st in a field of four starters. The time of the trial was 22.4, the greyhound won by a margin of 6 lengths. Suave Odessa was cleared.
Satisfactory Trial Results - Curnow trialled over the 390m from box 1, weight 32.5kg, the greyhound was placed 1st in a field of four starters. The time of the trial was 22.43, the greyhoud won by a nose. Curnow was not cleared.
