Krazy Blaze crossed to the rail soon after the start checking Uncle Bump and Galantis and severely checking Way Things Are.  Under The Doona, Galantis, Uncle Bump, Way Things Are and Krazy Blaze collided at the 300 metre mark checking Under The Doona, Uncle Bump, Way Things Are and Krazy Blaze. Challis Ridge crossed to the rail at the 250 metre mark checking It Is Done.  Krazy Blaze checked off Under The Doona at the 250 metre mark.  Under The Doona and Way Things Are collided at the 150 metre mark.

Stewards spoke to Mr. S. Thomas, the trainer of Grand Hero regarding the length of time the greyhound has had between races.  Grand Hero last raced on 8th September 2016 and is returning to race from a right back muscle injury and a change of trainer.  Mr. Thomas also declared a new weight of 34.1kgs for the greyhound in accordance with GAR 39(2).  Grand Hero last raced at 32.6kgs.

Stewards spoke to Mr. G. Smith, the trainer of Panther Grit regarding the length of time the greyhound has had between races.  Panther Grit last raced on 21st September 2016 and is returning to race from a right back muscle injury.

Storm Of All, Boston You Essay, Panther Grit and Road To Nhill were slow to begin.  Panther Grit crossed to the outside soon after the start and collided with Road To Nhill several times to the 250 metre mark; both greyhounds were severely checked as a result.  Swift Knockout, Storm Of All and Boston You Essay collided at the 250 metre mark.  Swift Knockout and Boston You Essay collided at the 150 metre mark and again at the 50 metre mark.

Panther Grit was vetted following the event.  It was reported that the greyhound sustained an injury to its right back muscle.  A 5 day stand down period was imposed.

Jimmy Flash was slow to begin.  Lil Blackbook, Star Douglas and Swift Spur collided soon after the start.  Gold Rush Dozer, Diamond's Sing, Lil Blackbook, Star Douglas, Swift Spur and Still Just Under collided at the 250 metre mark checking Gold Rush Dozer, Diamond's Sing and Star Douglas.  Still Just Under checked off Boopa Doop Girl approaching the 200 metre mark.  Star Douglas crossed to the rail at the 200 metre mark and collided with Diamond's SIng several times; both greyhounds were severely checked as a result.

Dr. Peregrine and Hello Slick were slow to begin.  Hide The Wallet and Dashing Magic collided soon after the start.  Dr. Shanice and Hello Slick collided at the 300 metre mark and again at the 200 metre mark.  Dr. Peregrine, Ace Gone Wild and Hide The Wallet collided at the 150 metre mark.  Dr. Peregrine, Ace Gone Wild, Hide The Wallet and Dashing Magic collided at the 50 metre mark.  Ace Gone Wild and Hide The Wallet collided approaching the winning post.

Roman Around was a late scratching at 8:19am due to illness (GAR 23).  A 10 day stand down period was imposed.  Stewards will require a veterinary certificate before any future nomination will be accepted. 

Furious Jack was very slow to begin (6 lengths) and pulled up soon after the start.  Another Hope and Woolly Warbo collided at the 300 metre mark.  Ready Jet Go and Dr. Simon collided at the 200 metre mark.  Another Hope checked off Woolly Warbo at the 100 metre mark.

Furious Jack was vetted following the event.  It was reported that the greyhound sustained a tail injury, a 14 day stand down period was imposed. Stewards conducted an inspection of the starting boxes and found no obvious defect. The Stewards were of the view that the greyhound sustained the injury whilst being boxed and took no further action against Furious Jack. 

Stewards spoke to Mr. V. Gay, the trainer of Phil Miyoot regarding the length of time the greyhound has had between races.  Phil Miyoot last raced on 7th October 2016 and is returning to race from a right hock injury.

Fear Fire and Spoil The Party were slow to begin.  Crymelon Fettle, Break The Code and Jett Zafonic collided at the 300 metre mark checking all three greyhounds.  Crymelon Fettle and Jett Zafonic collided at the 250 metre mark checking both greyhounds.  Crymelon Fettle and Break The Code collided at the 200 metre mark checking Break The Code.  Yorgi checked off Phil Miyoot at the 150 metre mark.

Dr. Valhalla and Vane Blue were slow to begin.  Sally Gardens and Vane Blue collided at the 300 metre mark.  Fiery Melody and De Goey collided at the 250 metre mark.  Sally Gardens checked off Vane Blue at the 200 metre mark.

Barra Johnson was a late scratching at 10:50am due to weight variation (GAR 39).  A 10 day stand down period was imposed.  Trainer, Mr. P. Derubeis was fined the sum of $100.

Bubsy John was slow to begin.  Battle Hook, Goodnight Irene and Miss Who collided soon after the start.  Battle Hook, Goodnight Irene, Bubsy John and Miss Who collided at the 300 metre mark.  Bubsy John checked off Goodnight Irene at the 150 metre mark.

Ginger Warrior and Seabrook Gem were slow to begin.  Hey Alio Fozzio and Stroke Of Genius collided soon after the start.  Texas Blaze, Hey Alio Fozzio and Stroke Of Genius collided at the 200 metre mark.  Ginger Warrior checked off Cape Ability at the 100 metre mark and collided with Golden Blaze.

The Club Veterinary Surgeon examined Slipaway Simba and no illness was detected.  The greyhound was a late scratching at 10:49am due to weight variation (GAR 39).  A 10 day stand down period was imposed.  Trainer, Mr. K. Quinn was fined the sum of $100.
